Rock'n'Roll Festival New Zealand's biggest 50's & 60's nostalgia festival, celebrates the music, culture, fashion, classic cars, hot rods, motorbikes, dancing, dragsters, scooters of this golden era. Spread over 5 days, Wednesday to Sunday, there are parades, competitions, bands, dancing, fashion shows & more. Something for everyone! |

Beach Hop Programme The Thundercruise takes place on Friday to a different destination on the Peninsula each year. Saturday is the big day with the Grand Parade in Whangamata featuring hundreds of classic cars, hot rods & motorbikes, the Junkyard Fashion Show, Retro Beauty Show and the Hop Idol competition. On Sunday there's a nostalgia fair, auto swap meet, 60s Surf Fest and more. Enjoy the music from the great line up of bands playing throughout the week. Entry for the public is free to the Beach Hop. |

Whangamata The Beach Hop is held in the popular seaside holiday resort of Whangamata, just two hours drive from Auckland. There are plenty of activities on offer including sea kayaking, fishing, surfing or just enjoying one of the many white sandy beaches in the area. Water based recreation is popular hence local water safety organisations are the recipients of any Beach Hop profits. |
