Take the Taupo Cycle Challenge The Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge regularly attracts over 10,000 riders from throughout NZ and overseas. Individual or solo, relay team, MTB challenge & relay, tandem, heart riders, Enduro are some of the event categories available to cyclists. Individual riders will complete the full 160 kilometre lap around Lake Taupo, while teams of two, three or four can participate in the team event making a more achievable goal for new or less experienced bikers. Great spot prizes, entertainment & music add to the atmosphere throughout the weekend. |

Event Information All the cycle races are based around Lake Taupo & the surrounding area. The main start & finish is on Tongariro Street, Taupo with all pre & post-event activities on Event day taking place on the Tongariro North Domain & the adjacent Great Lake Centre. The Sports & Lifestyle Expo held on Friday showcases the latest & greatest in cycling, sport and lifestyle options. There's also a line up of local bands & entertainers at Reception on Friday & on the Domain Saturday afternoon plus free entertainment to keep the kids amused. Owned and organised by the Rotary Club of Taupo Moana and a dedicated committee, Cycle Challenge returns its proceeds to the local community. Online entries are open 1 July 2012. |

Other Cycle Events Cycle Challenge is also the leading provider of endurance cycling events in New Zealand. Mountain bikers enjoy riding New Zealand's best trails in the Contact Huka MTB event. Licensed riders compete for cash prizes in the Avanti Men's Classic and WorkoutZone Women's road races and in the Contact Huka XL MTB race. |
